Thursday, January 5, 2012 Just past 5am, Finderne was requested into Somerville for the working fire. Rescue 1 responded along with A1, Chief Armstrong, and A2, Asst. Chief Binkley. The crew from the Rescue originally stood by as a FAST Team but was quickly upgraded to hand lines and overhaul operations. The crew worked for approx. 2 hours before returning back the Bridgewater.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012 At 1138 hrs, Chief Sheats from the Somerville Fire Department requested Finderne Fire for an Engine and Rescue to the scene of a kitchen fire on South Bridge St. 30-A1, Chief Armstrong, responded to the scene and advised Finderne to have Engine 102 standby in HQ as Rescue 1 continues in. The crew from the Rescue assisted for approx. 45 minutes before returning back to service.

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 Finderne Fire and Somerset BLS 801 responded to I 287 South just off USHY 22 East for the report of a Tractor Trailer on fire. Engine 102 responded and located a Tractor with fire coming from the wheel well. The crew from the Engine extinguished the fire without incident and returned to service in 20 minutes.
Wednesday, December 14, 2011 At 2243 hours on Dec. 14th, Finderne Fire and Bound Brook Rescue were dispatched to USHY 22 West at the intersection of Vosseller Ave for the overturned motor vehicle with unknown entrapment. Car 30 arrived on scene and advised negative entrapment and held the assignment to Engine 102 with Rescue 1 standing by in HQ. The crew from the Engine secured the batteries and a minor fuel leak. All units cleared the scene within 25 minutes.At 1630 hours on Dec. 15th, Finderne and Bound Brook were dispatched again to the same location for another overturn with entrapment. Car 30 arrived and confirmed one pin with patient in and out of conciousness. Engine 102 was in service followed by Rescue 1 and Engine 101. Engine 102 stood by with a hose line for fire suppression as the Rescue crew went to work on the extensive extrication. The crew from Engine 101 was diverted to Thomea Park to stand by for Northstar. The patient was extricated within 15 minutes and turned over to Bound Brook Squad and Somerset MICU. The crew from Engine 102 and Rescue 1 stood by at the accident scene for lighting while Bridgewater Pd conducted their investigation. All units cleared the scene within 2 hours.
Sunday, December 4, 2011 Members of the Finderne Fire Department conducted a Live Burn training exercise today at the Somerville Training Tower. The crews drilled on extinguishment, searching, ICS, throwing ladders, and VES. All members did an outstanding job! Also, thank you to Somerville Rescue for standing by while we were in training and Instructor Steve Vreeland for all his knowledge.
Monday, November 28, 2011 At 1703 hrs, Finderne Fire was dispatched to the area of Union Ave and I 287 for the reported overturn motor vehicle. Engine 102 was in service within 2 minutes of dispatch and arrived on a two vehicle MVA with both vehicles on all fours with one of the vehicles in the center median after a complete rollover. The crew from the Engine secured the batteries on both vehicles and cleared the scene.Units on scene with Finderne included Somerset Medical Center BLS and ALS along with the Bridgewater Police Department.
Saturday, November 26, 2011 Santa will be coming to the Finderne area on Thursday, December 15th and Friday, December 16th. Santa checked his list twice and all children in Finderne are on the nice list! Everyone keep your eyes out for Santa to be riding his sleigh through the streets escorted by the entire Finderne Fire Department. Santa will be handing out candy canes to all children. Have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season!
