Friday, August 12, 2011 At 2152 Hrs, Rescue 1 was requested into Hillsborough Fire Dist on a FAST assignment to 3501 Richmond Ct. The Rescue was in service and arrived on a 3 1/2 story condo with heavy fire on the third floor and attic. The crew stood by for approx 10 minutes until they were advised to go to work while Sta. 28 arrived to relieve them of the FAST duties.The Rescue's crew was then split into 2 crews. 30-A4, Captain Marshall, took a crew in with a hand line and made entry into several rooms to conduct a search. 30-A5, Captain Ally, took his crew with another hand line and did the same. After all searches were negative, both crews began an aggressive interior attack on the 3rd floor apartment. Crews worked for approx. 30 minutes until they were relieved by another crew. The Rescue remained on scene until 0130 hrs to continue assisting.

Tuesday, August 9, 2011 Bridgewater Police dispatched Finderne Fire to the train underpass near the TD Bank Ballpark, for the vehicle stuck in 4 feet of water with the occupant trapped on the top of the vehicle. Rescue 1 called in service first followed by Engine 102. Due to heavy traffic and major flooding the response was delayed. 30-A2, Asst. Chief Binkley, was on scene and advised that an employee from American Cyanamid was on scene with a boat and attempting to rescue the subject. As the Rescue was pulling on scene, 30-A2 advised the subject was freed and all units can clear.Less than 30 seconds later Bridgewater Police advised of another vehicle stuck in water with the occupants still inside, on the exit ramp from Interstate 287 North onto State Highway 28 West. Engine 102 arrived on scene and was able to extricate the subject prior to the arrival of the Rescue. The occupants were then transported to the McDonald's on Promenade Blvd while they awaited a tow truck. All units cleared the scene and took the 20 minute ride in traffic back to the fire house.
Sunday, July 31, 2011 At 1837 hrs, Bridgewater PD dispatched Finderne Fire and Bound Brook Rescue to USHY 22 East near the Green Brook Border for the overturn motor vehicle with entrapment. Due to conflicting reports of the exact location of the incident, Green Brook Fire an EMS were dispatched prior to Finderne being alerted. While Engine 102 was en route, Bridgewater PD updated Finderne Fire with negative entrapment. The Engine arrived on a single vehicle overturned off the roadway resting on the guardrail. Rescue 1 was cancelled while responding due to the patient already being rescued. The Engine stood by for 30 minutes while the tow truck up righted the vehicle.Units on scene with the Fire Department included the Bound Brook Rescue Squad, Green Brook Fire and EMS, Somerset MICU, Green Brook Police and the Bridgewater Police Depatment.
Monday, July 25, 2011 All the members of the Finderne Fire Department would like to congratulate Firefighter Dan Ruggini and wife Dana on the birth of their first child Rylie Marie Ruggini. She is a healthy baby weighing in at 8 lbs 10 oz and 21 inches long. Firefighter Ruggini is currently a Team Leader in the U.S. Army and stationed in Fort Drum, NY.
Monday, July 25, 2011 Finderne Fire and Somerset BLS 804 were dispatched to Halls Warehouse, 200 Foothill Rd, for the working fire in the engine compartment of a tractor trailer. 30-A2, Assistant Chief Binkley, arrived on scene and advised the fire has been extinguished by the driver. Engine 102 was downgraded to a reduced response as Engine 101 was held in quarters. The crew from the Engine checked for extension and did minimal overhaul. All units cleared the scene within 20 minutes.
Thursday, July 21, 2011 At 2039 Hrs, Bridgewater Pd dispatched Finderne Fire and Finderne Rescue to 320 Yorktown Rd for the report of a fire in the basement. 30-A2, Assistant Chief Binkley, arrived on scene of a 2 1/2 story frame private dwelling with nothing showing from the exterior and established Yorktown Command. 30-A1, Chief Mangino, arrived seconds later and assumed command while 30-A2 took Operations.Engine 101 was first due and in service within 3 minutes of dispatch. Engine 102 and Truck 30 were in service a few minutes after. The crews were confronted with a moderate smoke condition throughout the residence with heavier smoke in the basement. After a short investigation, the crew located a burnt motor in the furnace causing the smoke condition. The Truck was ordered to vent the structure as the Engine crew secured the utilities. All units cleared the scene within 30 minutes.
Tuesday, July 5, 2011 Construction has begun for the new parking lot at the firehouse. The project should be finished in a few days.
Wednesday, June 29, 2011 Somerset MICU requested Finderne Fire to a motor vehicle accident, with one subject entrapped. Finderne's Engine 102 and Rescue 1 responded to the scene of a single vehicle MVA into a utility pole. The Engine’s crew stretched a 1 1/2" foam line for fire suppression, while the Rescue’s crew began the extrication. The subject’s right foot was pinned, and required an extensive operation prior to extrication from the vehicle. Once removed, the subject was transported to New Brunswick’s Robert Wood Johnson Memorial Hospital, by Somerset BLS and ALS. Units on scene with the Fire Department included two Somerset Medical Center BLS Ambulances, two Medic Units from Somerset Medical Center and the Bridgewater Police Department.
Wednesday, June 8, 2011 At 0336 hrs, Finderne Fire was requested to Hillsborough’s fire district as a FAST team to 287 Gemini Dr., for an apartment fire. 30-A1 and Rescue 1 responded to the scene and were canceled on arrival, due to the fire being held to a 2' x 2' piece of insulation burning in the attic.
Tuesday, June 7, 2011 At 0500 hrs, Rescue 1 was requested to 1115 Gress St. in Manville for the working structure fire. 30-A1 arrived and advised the Rescue that it was a 1 1/2 story residential building, with the fire knocked down in the attic. The crew from the Rescue stood FAST for approximately 30 minutes, while overhaul was conducted. Units on scene with Finderne included fire departments from Manville, Hillsborough Stations 36 and 37, and Somerville Engine 3.
