Wednesday, October 31, 2012 The men and women of Finderne Fire have been responding to the incidents in our area due to Superstorm Sandy. Several members and their families have been staying at the station due to the call volume and because of loss of power at their own homes. It has been quite an experience and one that will keep the Brotherhood and Family together for a long time. Here are some photos from the lateset call, a structure fire on Harry Rd this morning.
It is important to have a home fire escape plan that prepares your family to think fast and get out quickly when the smoke alarm sounds. What if your first escape route is blocked by smoke or flames? That's why having two ways out is such a key part of your plan. This year’s theme,“Have 2 Ways Out!”, focuses on the importance of fire escape planning and practice. The Finderne Fire Department will be attended several schools this coming week to present students with proper fire safety advice. On Friday, October 12th, we will be holding an Open House at the Fire House for all to attend. Stop by between 6pm and 9pm to meet the firefighters and get a tour of the station.
