Monday, November 7, 2011 At 1705 hrs, Finderne was dispatched to Target for the activated fire alarm from the generator room. Thirty seconds after dispatched Bridgewater PD updated the fire department with a working fire in the generator room. 30-A2, Asst. Chief Binkley, arrived and established command with nothing showing. Engine 101 arrived first due and gained entry into the generator room and found a moderate smoke condition with the fire being extinguished. Truck 30 arrived on scene and assisted the Engine crew with securing the power to the building. After power was secured, the scene was turned over to Fire Official Hayver.
Wednesday, November 2, 2011 At 0715 hrs on Wednsday morning, Finderne Fire was dispatched to the area of Union Ave and Billion St for the reported overturn motor vehicle with unknown entrapment. 30 - A2, Asst. Chief Binkley, arrived on scene with 2 vehicle's on their side with negative entrapment. At this time, the response was held to Engine 101 with the Rescue standing by in headquarters. The crew from the Engine secured the batteries on both vehicles and cleared the scene within 30 minutes.At 0530 hrs on Thursday morning, Finderne Fire was dispatched to Ushy 22 West in the area of Vosseller Ave for the reported overturn vehicle. While en route, Bridgewater PD advised Chief Mangino that there was one confirmed entrapment. Engine 101 called in service followed by Rescue 1. Prior to arriving on scene, the Fire Department was advised the subject was extricated by Medic Unit 681 (FF/Medic Hogan and FF/Medic Buckley) Th Engine crew secured the battery of the vehicle while the Rescue crew stood by until the arrival of Bound Brook BLS. Patient was turned over to Bound Brook EMS and all Finderne units cleared the scene.
Tuesday, November 1, 2011 Just past 2am, the Warren Fire Department requested Finderne Fire to respond to the scene of a working house fire. Car 30 and Rescue 1 responded and was faced with several detours due to numerous roads closed still from the snow storm. The Rescue finally navigated its way to the scene of 137 King George Rd and was met with a single story residential structure with fire throughout. The crew from the Rescue stood FAST for 3 hours while they attempted to bring the fire under control.
Saturday, October 22, 2011 Just past 0430 hrs, Finderne Fire was dispatched as a FAST Team into Bridgewater Dist. 3 for the working fire in a 3 story condo. Minutes after dispatch, Finderne was also requested for manpower in addition to a FAST. Car 30, Chief Mangino, Rescue 1 and Engine 102 responded to the scene. The crew from the Rescue stood FAST as the Engine crew worked overhauling the first floor. The Rescue and Engine were on scene for approx. 1 1/2 hrs before returning back to Dist. 4.
Monday, October 10, 2011 From Monday, October 10th, to Friday, October 14th, the Finderne Fire Department attended several schools for Fire Prevention Week. The schools included Kinder Kastle, Learning Gate, Montessori School, The Somerset Academy and Adamsville School. On Saturday, October 15th, the members opened their doors for an open house for the public. A great time was had by all.
Wednesday, October 5, 2011 At 2310 hrs, Finderne Fire was dispatched into North Plainfield for the commercial building fire on USHY 22 West. Just as Engine 102 was responding, Bridgewater PD advised them of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Union Ave and Morgan Ln. Engine 102 diverted to the accident scene followed by Rescue 1. The crew from the Rescue performed the quick extrication and the Engine responded back to North Plainfield within 10 minutes. The Engine finally returned home at 0200 hrs.
Thursday, September 22, 2011 At 1149 Hrs, Bridgewater Police dispatched Finderne Fire to USHY 22 West near Mountain Ave for the reported vehicle fire. Engine 102 went into service and arrived on an unoccupied fully involved vehicle fire. The crew stretched an 1 1/2" foam line and started to attack the fire while simultaneously opening the hood of the vehicle with the Hurst tool to extinguish the fire in the engine compartment. The crew made quick work of the fire and went back into service within 20 minutes.
Wednesday, September 21, 2011 Just past 10 am, Finderne's FAST was requested to standby at Elizabeth Ave Sta. 26 while they were operating at a 2nd alarm structure fire. Rescue 1 responded and stood by along with 23 Truck from Bound Brook. All units stood by for approx. 1 hr until Rescue 1 took in a CO alarm at the Parks and Forestry building on Canal Rd with Engine 442 from Middlebush. After clearing the Co alarm, Finderne units returned back to Bridgewater.
Sunday, September 18, 2011 At 1942 hrs, Finderne Fire was dispatched into Bound Brook for the working structure fire with victim hanging in the window. Engine 102 and Truck 30 responded to the scene where 3 subjects had already been taken from the house. After the interior crews made entry into the fire room, the final victim was located. The subject was unresponsive and removed from the building, then turned over to EMS. Engine 101 was redirected to the Somerset Patriots Stadium for a landing zone for the last victim. Finderne units remained on scene for approx. a hour before returning back to service. Units on scene with Finderne Fire included Bound Brook Fire, South Bound Brook Fire, Somerset Fire, Bound Brook Rescue Squad, 3 Somerset BLS Units, 3 Somerset MICU Units (The Hogans), NJSP Medevac, and the Bound Brook Police Department.
